Welcome to Hotel Phillips Kansas City, Curio Collection by Hilton – an iconic hotel with an illustrious past. Originally established in 1930, this Kansas City hotel was once the tallest building in town, standing 20 stories high and boasting 400 guest rooms. Today, Hotel Phillips offers 216 elegant guest rooms, yet it maintains much of the historic charm and original Art Deco features which make it a true gem in the heart of downtown.
An art lover’s paradise, Hotel Phillips offers beauty around every corner. Original Art Deco features include elaborate bronze and nickel metalwork, lustrous walnut paneling and stylish light fixtures. In the lobby stands an eleven-foot sculpture of the Goddess of Dawn, created in 1931 by Kansas City sculptor Jorgen Dreyer.
At Hotel Phillips our Kilo Charlie Coffee Bar features coffee staples as well as nitro and draft lattes. Kilo Charlie is currently closed for renovations. For an escape back to the 1930's era, use a password to find your way down to P.S. Speakeasy through its hidden entrance and enjoy classic and new age craft cocktails at night. Work out in the hotel fitness center or take a stroll downtown. Discover the lively Power and Light district, or P&L as the locals call it, flowing with live music, shopping, history and galleries.
The heartbeat of Kansas City, the Power and Light District, is the Midwest's premier entertainment epicenter, offering a wealth of restaurants, bars, entertainment venues and shopping in the heart of downtown. Visit the Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland or catch a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse Mainstreet Cinema. Other attractions close to the hotel include the Sprint Center, Bartle Hall Convention Center and Kauffman Performing Arts Center. The Crossroads District also offers an eclectic enclave of one-of-a-kind restaurants, boutique shops, creative businesses, studios and art galleries.
